"EYE OF THE CAMERA" AWARDS FIRST PLACE TO JANET KOELLING

Littleton Museum's "EYE OF THE CAMERA" Exhibit awarded Janet Koelling First Place for her Fine Art Photography piece titled "TRANSITIONAL MAJESTY." The exhibit opens Friday, Feb 20, 2015, and continues through the month of March as part of "Month of Photography Denver."

Janet Koelling's piece, "Transitional Majesty" was awarded First Place in the Color Division during the artists' reception on Feb 19. Regarding Koelling's piece, Juror John Sunderland said,

"This piece drew me in and kept revealing deeper dimensions of interest. Koelling captured beauty in the color and portrayed amazing composition. It is the quintessential capture of lighting display that every photographer seeks to conquer."

Koelling titled the piece "Transitional Majesty" saying,

"It displays the transition from dark into light, from night into day, from autumn into winter. Ten inches of new snow blanketed the Sneffels Range near Ridgway, Colorado, creating a magical backdrop to the golden display of color on the Aspens. Clouds danced in the sunrise painting an ever-changing canvas of beauty and majesty."

"Transitional Majesty" is for sale during the entire month of the exhibit. Eye of the Camera Exhibition at Littleton Museum is the oldest photo exhibition in Colorado. 2015 is the 48th year.

Mother Nature Rests on display at EYE OF THE CAMERA EXHIBIT, Littleton Museum

"Mother Nature Rests" by Janet Koelling, was accepted into the EYE OF THE CAMERA Exhibition at the Littleton Museum. It will be on display throughout the month of March 2014, and is eligible to win the juried competition.  This black and white, photo fine art piece expresses Mother Nature's resting place amidst this wintery scene. Feminine images of beauty reside in the snowy drifts and sparking water, while awaiting the new life of Springtime. Shadows and light play upon the curves and lines, inviting the viewer to breathe deeply and ponder.
